TROUBLE AMONG THE STOCK AGENTS. (Per Press Association.) Napier, last night. An action for libel has been commenced by Mr T. E. Lindsay, auctioneer and stock agent for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, against Messrs Abrahams and Williums, Limited, stock and station agents, Palmerston North, claiming £IOOO damages in respect of statements alleged to have been made by tho latter firm reflecting upon the plaintiff's conduct in a certain recent stock transaction. The case will bo heard at the February sessions of the Supreme Court. DEATH OF MR MURDOCH.

Information has been received of the death at Hastings of Mr H. H. Murdoch, patent agent, well known in many parts of the colony, the deceased having been a contributor of short stories to several colonial papers.
