Three young men employed in local offices had a somewhat nnploasant boating experience on Tuesday evening. At six o’clock they left the river in one of the Bowing Club’s pleasure beats on a visit to the Athenic. The weather was fine at the time, but before they reached the big steamer there was a fairly heavy sea running in the bay. Arriving alongside the Atbenic after a rough trip, the young men were taken on board, but in lifting the boat the latter bumped heavily, alongside the walls of the steamer, and breaking fell into the water, efforts to recover it being unsuccessful. In lifting the boat one of the crew of the Athenic wrs slightly injured through falling with the boat into the water.
