John Clark, said to have deserted from the . Highland Light Infantry during the visit of the Imperial troops three .years ago, was convicted of shooting Alexander ilogg during, an affray with a woman in Wellington on July 25, causing bodily harm. lie was remanded for sentence. Edwin Gray, alias William Harris, \vas convicted on the first of a series of indictments for burglary and robbery at three houses in Wellington during August. Sentence was deferred. DUNEDIN, last night.
At the Supreme Court to-day, Adam Scott was sentenced _ to five years oh a ohargo of carnally knowing a girl of eight years. in the divorce case of Burnes v. Burnes, wife’s petition, a decree nisi was granted. The parties had been living in Wellington for some 'time. The case of Seay v. Seay, husband’s petition, was adjourned foPhthe production of the marriage certificate.
