Replying to the British India traders’ address of welcome, ho dwelt upon the ancient trade connection between India and Persia, aud the successful cllorts of the British to compete with other- nations for British ascendency of trade aud interests in tho Persian Gulf. Ho expressed tho bopo that the friendship of Britain aud Persia would be strengthened.
