PARLIAMENTARY.
LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. Tho Council mot at 2.30. The Public Works Bill passed its final stages. . The Counoil resumed at 7.30. The Maori Laud Laws Amendment Bill passed the final stages. The Council then adjourned to await the Appropriation Bill.
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
The House met at 2.30.
The wnolo afternoon was devoted to the further consideration of the Supplementary Estimates. Some opposition was shown to the Defence Department vote. Several country members objected to voting monoy for defence purposes which might be better expended on roads and bridges. The total vote passed unaltered. The Houso resumed at 7.30.
The Supplementary Estimates havo been under consideration the whole evening. So far no amendments have been made in any of the votes.
