(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night,
The Patriotic Fund Committee wish immediate applications from contingenters permanently disabled, as it is intended to distribute £SOO, the balance of Lloyd’s fund, without delay. The most deserving cases are to receive first attention.^ In cases where several secretaries were charged with failing to publish in the Gazette a true and faithful statement of the affairs of their mining companies, Mr Carew, S.M., held that a secretary was not manager of a company, but a mere servant of the directors. The cases were dismissed. The Crown Prosecutor intimated that in future each director would be individually held responsible in the event of the company not complying with the Aoti .
