FERRY STEAMERS COLLIDE.

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, last night.

Tho ferry steamers Takapuna and Victoria collided in the harbor while one was approaching and tho other leaving Northcote wharf. Both vossols woro considerably damagod amidships. Vho Takapuna was cut into amidships, and the Victoria has a largo holo in the hull, through which tho water entered frooly. Tho Takapuna was towed to the wharf, and tho Victoria returned to the wharf add landed a large number of passengors. The affair will form tho subject of an enquiry by the Collector of Customs.
