NOTICE is hereby given that the Gisborne .borough Council will hold a MEETING at the Council Chambers, Lowo street, Gisborne, on TUESDAY, Bth day of December, 1908, at 7.30 o’clock p.m., for tbe purpose of confirming the following Resolution : “In pursuance and exercise of the power vested" in it in that behalf by 1 The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,’ 1 The Bating Act, 1894,’ and 1 The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ and amendmen's thereof, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :
“ That for the purpose oF providing the Interest, Sinking Fuud, and other charges upon a Loan of £4OOO authorised to be raised by the [Gisborne Borough Council under the provisions of ‘ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,’ and amendments thereof, for the establishment of Publio Abattoirs, the said Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a Special Bate of One Penny in the Pound sterling upon the Annual Rateable Valuation of all rateablo property wilhin the Borough of Gisborno, as defined in the New Zealand Gazette of 14th May, 1877, folio 526, and that such Special Bate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currenoy of such Loan, and bo payable half yearly on the 80th day of June and the 31st day of December in each and every year during the currenoy of such Loan, being a period of Forty-one Years, or until the Loan is fully paid off, the rate of interest on such Loan being 84 per cent, per annum; And it is further resolved—“ That the interest upon the Loan shall be paid out of the charges, rents and tolls accruing from such Public Abattoirs, and in that case the Special Rate will not bo collected except to make good any deficiency that may occur through the revenue from such Abattoirs being insufficient to meet the interest and lawful charges upon the Loan.” R.
