Tho batting was the best of the match. He made runs all round the wicket, having not a singlo misstroko or the slightest difficulty in playing any of tho bowlers.

Tho Cricket Association decided to apply tho new rules adopted by the Maryiebono Club, making 200 instead of 150 runs tho follow-on rule to the Victorian match against tho English toam.
A DRAWN GAME.

Rain fell early in the morning, but tho wickot soon dried and wanted sting. Thoro was little interest in the finish. As the visitors were timed to leave for Melbourne in tho afternoon, a draw was practically a foregone conclusion. Tho Homo team made the most of tho throe hours at the wickets, and with flee, interesting batting added 152 to tho ovornight score for the loss of tho additional five wickets. Hill raisod his total to 116, and was dismisßod by a brilliant catch by Braund high up in the slip. He was 190 minutes at the wickets ; ho hit 12 fours and gave no chance. Gillen soon followed. Claxton and Jennings - added 35. Reedman repeated his first innings’ experience. The partnership of Evans and Jennings was fruitful, and responsible for several changes of bowling, Rhodes, Rolf, Hirst, Arnold, and Braund all being tried. At 288 Evans, letting fly at Braund, was caught at deep square log. Newiand assisted Jennings to play out time. Jennings is a youth of 19, a most promising batsman. He played confidently and well, with fine defence and nice strokes. Play ceased at three o’clock, when there wore seven wickets down for 343. The match was drawn.. Tho scores are :
