SATISFACTORY PRICES REALISED
One of the moat successful land sales ever held in Gisborne took place at the Academy of Music on Saturday, when Messrs Williams and Kottle offered a large number of town, suburban, and country properties. Mr G. R. Wyllie acted as auctioneer, Mr A. F. Kennedy being also in attendance. Competition was remarkably keen throughout, and good business was reported. THE LATE P. McFARLANE’S ESTATE.

Considerable interest was attracted to the sale of the Wainui sections, and there was a great deal of speculation as to what prices would be reached. The result of the sale came somewhat as a surprise to most people, and Mr Coopor is to be heartily congratulated upon the excellent prices obtained. Hutchinson, M.H.R., was sold to Mr Hall for LB7, and afterwards to Mr Peddle at L4O. On behalf of Mr A. Dewing, part of section 153, Gisborne, lr 15 l-10p, was sold to Mr Miller for L 65. Parts of section 29, 34, and 35, Whataupoko, owned by Mr Reed, was sold to Mr F. Hall for L 135. Mrs M. A. Brown’s Mangapapa sections were passed. Fifty-one pounds per aero was offered for Mr F. Rhodes’' Waikanae proporty, which was passed. Section 336, Gladstone road, l-6fch acre and dwelling, was passed at L 375, and no bid was received for Mr R. Fisher’s Aberdeen road sections. Section 44, Whataupoko, Mr Calcott’s, went for Ll6O, Mr Garrett being the purchaser. Mrs T. Morrison’s Victoria township sections wero passed, and section 124, Kaiti, Mr Dalziell’s, was passed at Ll7O.
