A meeting of the Working Committee of the Agricultural Show and Ram Fair was held in Bockett’s Frasertown Hotel ( on Saturday evening, the 31st October. The following members were present: - Messrs M. P. Chapman, A. E. Beckott, J. Davey, W, Grimsdale, F. Mcßae, S. J. Bennett (chairman), A. H. Stood, and S. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The following stewards were appointed : —Horses : D. E. O’Neill, D. Byrne, R. E. Jefferson, and J. Lindsay. Cattle : W. C. Munro, A. 'Sinclair, and T. Taylor. Sheep : W. A. Neale, E. Neale, and F. Steed. Produco and poultry: A. Davey, R. Steed, and H. Taylor. Dogs: H. 0 Neill, W. Grimsdale, and W. Balfour. It was deoided that the Working Committee meet on the Rooreation Ground on Saturday, tho 14th November, at 2 p.m. On the motion of Mr Bennett, seconded hv Mr Grimsdale, it was decided that factory Ibijtter be exhibited in three single contributions to the show were announced :-JW. Grimsdale one euinea, S. J. Bennott throe guineas, A. H. Steed one guinoa, S. Twig (for factory butter) one guinea, J. Davey (for milk test) one guinea, A. E. Beckett three no w members were electedC. P. Brandon, W- Goodwin, J. Kain. It was decided to utilise the programme as an advertising medium. The following gentlemen wrote agreeing to act as judges Horses, A. Seager Buckland ; cattle, Cyril White ; sheep, W. Jobson; produce, J. A, Eletcher, T. Wheel; Maori exhibits, Ihaka Whanga, Ruibi Kapene; miscellaneous produce, Mrs Haydon ; pigs, R. Palmer; sporting | dogs, W. A. Rutherford; poultry, W. Miller. , , , . I regret to have to record the doath of Mr William Couper, one of our oldest and most respected settlers, after a long and painful illness. Tho interment took place in tho Frasertown cemetery on Wednesday, the Rev. Mr Rayburn officiating. A larae number of wreaths were sent by relatives and friends of the deceased. Mr Couper always took an active interest in local affairs, and was for many years Chairman of the Frasertown bchool Committee and President of the Frasertown Public Library. Ho leaves a widow and grown-up family.
