A LIVELY MEETING.

Per Press Association. Auckland, last night,

A wild scene occurred at a meeting of the Trades and Labor Council last night. The moeting discussed a motion that each member of the Council must be an effective working membor of a union. This affected tho status of a large number of members. There were 70 members present. The feeling was so high that the rival factions frequently appeared on the vergo of resorting to violence. There was a fierce tussle betweon the secretary and president for possession of the minute book, which the secretary Becured amid howls of execration and victory. Eventually the resolution was put, and the result was 35 votes for and against. The president gave his casting vote in favor of the resolution, which was declared carried amid uproar.
