APPEAL COURT.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, last night. In the Court of Appeal the caso of Rex v. Scully was heard to day. This was* a Crown caso, reserved by Judgo Dcuniston. Accused was indicted at Hokitika under section 203 of the Criminal Code Act, 1593, with having unlawfully procured an instrument for illegal uSc on a young woman. The ovidence showed that accused had procured tho instrument and ondoavored to persuade the woman to use it, but she declined. The jury found Scully guilty, and the question reserved was whother on tho above evidence a conviction could stand. The Court reserved its decision.
