Per Press Association. New Plymouth, last night. A meeting of the No-license League tonight resolved that many clauses of the Licensing Bill were decidedly objectionable, and urging the members for the district to oppose the measure. A gathering of officers of tho Taranaki Volunteer Battalion was hold to-night to farewell Captain Taunton, late adjutant, on his departure for England. His services were highly eulogised, and a presentation was made him of a gold sovereign case woll tilled. Great regret was expressed at losing the services of such an efficient, zealous officer. Last night Captain Taunton was entertained at dinner, and presented with a handsome photo.
