LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL,

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, last night. The Council mot at 2.30. The Impress Supply Bill passed all its

stages. The Companies Bill was read a second time. The House resumed at 7.30. The debate on the second reading of tho Licensing Bill occupied the House throughout tho evening, a large number of members takiug part in it. A good deal of opposition was shown to clause 9, the no license-no-liquor clause. Other members objected to a Bill of such importance being brought down at the close of the session, and contended there was no urgent need for it. Tho debate was proceeding at midnight, when the telegraph office closed.
