ANOTHER PROTEST.

Per Press Association,

DUNEDIN, last night.

At a special meeting of the Council of Christian Churches and the .United Tcmpcranco Reform Council, twelve resolutions objecting to various clauses of the Licensing Bill were adopted. The first declared that the Bill as a whole was framed ,u the nterests of licensees, and not of the people. Objection is taken to striking out the reduction issue, and the proposal to fine persons in possession of liquor in no-license districts ; to the proposed referendum ; to sections 11, 14, 35, 36, and 37. The combined executives urge members to reject the Bill, and prevent a grave public wrong.
