Stanley, re-elected, unopposed. Arnold Forster, re-elected, polling 3912 ; Patrick Damanscy, Nationalist, 3671. Lyttelton, re-elected, polling 2689 ; Borridge 2499. Many Liberals who in 1900 'voted for the Government rather than woaken the Ministry over tho Boer war, now voted for Mr Berridge. Tho Education Bill was also a factor in the polling.
