A SHOCKING FATALITY.

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. Ernest Venn, fareman on a goods train between Balclutha and Dunedin, was killed to-day by striking the over bridge between Stirling and Benhar. Venn stood up on the tender to trim the coal, and was struck in passing the bridge and shockingly mutilated, having been thrown off the train. He had only been married about two months. A guard was killed under the same bridge some years ago.

A DIVIDEND. The directors of Donaghy’s Rope and Twine Co. have declared an interim dividend oi 3| per cent.
