BETTING CASES

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night,

At the Police Court to-day some of the cases arising out of the police raid on bookmakers come on. A. Moss, charged with being the occupant of certain offices and nsing the same for the purposes of betting with persons resorting thereto, was committed for trial, bail being fixed at £IOO, with one surety for a like sum. J. Todd and H. J. Goodman, for assisting Moss in the business, were also committed for triaj. Todd, it was shown, was engaged on the books of a tailoring business in which Moss had an interest, but the Magistrate thought the evidence had shown he was mixed up in betting besides to some extent,
