(Per Press Association.) Wellington, last night. Tho Now Zealand team of boxors who returned by the Mokoia yesterday were given nn offioial recoption to-day. A Wellington firm has receivod an order for 18,000 head of dressed poultry for South Africa. . The Agricultural Department is advised that Mr Pederson, the new chief dairy expert, left London for Wellington by the Rimataka last week. _ . Two presentations in connection with tho recent Parliamentary excursion to the Islands are to be made by the Premier in Bellamy’s to-morrow. Captain Crawshaw, of tho Mapourika, will bo the recipient of an illuminated address, in album form, signed by tho wholo of tho excursionists, in addition to a sovereign case, suitably inscribed. Mr Burt, chief engineer of the vessel, will he presented with a sovereign oase.
Tho Parliamentary Librarian, Mr O. Wilson, has been granted six months’ holiday on full pay. Mr Wilson will, during the recess, visit all the principal libraries of Great Britain, and early next session will preseut a report on the same to tho Library Committee. Mr ..Field, secretary of the Employers’ Federation, has written to tho Premier, contradicting tho published statement that the employers approved of tho provisions of the Conciliation and Arbitration Act Amendment Bill, and asking postponement of the Bill until aftor a oonforence of employers, which meets here noxt Wednesday.
