The hearing of a charge of permitting drunkenness on licensed premises against Mrs Shearer, liccnsoe of tho Lawcourt Hotel, was concluded to-day. Mr Carow, S.M., convicted tho accused and inflicted a fine of £5. Ho refused the request of tho counsel for the dofonce to increase tho fine to permit of an appoal on facts. A charge against a fruiterer of selling cut flowers on a half-holiday afternoon was dismissed to-day. It was admitted that flowers wore commonly sold by fruiterers.
