At .the Magistrate’s Court to-day, :C,- L. Innes and Co., brewers* of Hamilton, were lined £5 and £4 8s 5d for sending liquor into the King Country; under a false consignment note.:

The Mayor of Hamilton (Mr C. J. W. Barton) has resigned. Ho has stated no reason.

PALMERSTON N., last night.

The Supreme Court resumed this morning before Mr Justice Edwards. An appeal in the case of Herriott v. the police, an appeal against the Magistraee’s -decision convicting Herriott of exposing liqjuors for sale, was argued, Judgment was reserved. _
