WATER POWER

(Per Press Association.) Wairoa, last night.

There is sufficient water power in Wairoa County and the Ureweia Country to provide electricity for the whole of New Zealand for many years. ?n addition to Waikaremoana, recently visited by Mr Perbam, there is the Manga-nui o-Hou river, a tributary of tho Waiau river, on which are twelve waterfalls, one 150 feet high ; another large waterfall on the Euakiturf river, Oner than To Eeinga, and others in the Urewera country, equal to the Huku Falls, but only known to a few guides. A special outfit is required to explore it, owing to tho rough state of tho country. Mr Perharn arrives at Napier, and Mr Armstrong at Gisborne, to-day.
