A DESPERATE WOMAN
Per Press AUCKLAND, last night.
Mary Annie Orm-sby, wife of an 'Auckland sea cook, hanged herself last night in a wash-house at her •home, leaving a note for her children, saying that she had done away with herself. Deceased feared that •she suffered from ah internal complaint requiring an operation, but she had not. secured medical assistance. ARTHUR CONINGI-lAM AGAIN IN TROUBLE.
In the Police Court, Arthur Conin gbarn, a well-known cricketer, was charged with the theft of three guineas, the property of A. J. Innes, of Wellington. The solicitor for the defence stated that he understood it was merely a case of disputed accounts. The defendant was remand’ed until Friday, bail being allowed in two sureties of £SO each.
A gumdigger named John Williamson fell off a dray at W'hangarei and injured his spine so badly. that his death resulted.
