WAIRARAPA INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION

Tho Wairarapa Art and Industrial Exhibition was opened to-day by the Hon. McGowan in tho presence of a very large gathering, and proved a great success, there, being industrial and commercial exhibits from centres all over the oolony, literary, educational, and domestic exhihibits from throughout Wairarapa and as far as Napier. The art and curio gallery embraces an astonishing collection. Between two and three hundred pictures are loaned by residents throughout the valley, and include many pictures that are old, and valuable curios from all parts of the world, and in consequence of several Maori residents being on the Committee the aggregation of Native curios is one of the best seen out of the cities. An interesting programme of onsortaining and competitive events was arranged, and the exhibition remains open till Friday,
