Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, last night. Tho Council met at 2.30. Tho Bush and Swamp Crown Lands Bill passed tho final stages. Tho Shipping and Seamon Bill was road a socond tirno pro forma. HOUSE OF, REPRESENTATIVES. The House met at 2.30. -Mr Buddo brought up the report of the Public Petitions Committee on 84 petitions urging that stops bo taken to obtain possession of tho Bank of New Zealand for making it absolutely and ontirely a State Bank. Tho report was as follows : "That the committee cannot recommend tho prayer of tho petitioners that the Bank of Now Zealand bo made absolutely and entirely a State Bank, but that it be a recommendation to Government that any State support granted to tho Bank of Now Zealand at the closo of existing arrangements bo in tho naturo of tho colony joining as shareholders, and retaining a proportionate control in the management of the Bank.” Mr Buddo moved that tho report bo referred to Government for consideration, which was agreed to on tho voices, without discussion. Tho Testators’ Family Maintenance Bill was put through committee without amendment.

House resumed at 7.30. In connection with the Police Offences Amendment Bill, a new clause was added fixing the maximum penalty of £2O for disfiguring natural sconory, rocks, trees, etc., for advertising or other purposes. Tho General Assembly Library Bill passed through Committoe.
