“ The Lady Slavey,” with which Mr John F. Sheridan commences a season of
three nights on Monday next, is said to be one of the brightest musical comedies ever presented in Now Zealand, the piece is a go from start to finish, thero is hardly a dull moment from the rise to the fall of the curtain. Mr John F. Sheridan himse.'f is seen to great advantage pourtraying no less than five distinct characters. The Criterion lady dancers who accompany Mr Sheridan are said to be undoubtedly tbe best “ corps do ballet ” which has over visited New Zealand. Little Gulliver, who also accompanies tho organisation, is a source of great merriment when on the stage. “ The Slavey ” will be followed on Tuesday night by “ A Trip to Chicago,” in which Mr Sheridan will appear in the character of a voluble Irish Jady “Johanna Murphy,” a companion picture, and said to be even funnier than his better known “ Widow O’Brien,” which part has made the name of John F. Sheridan famous throughout all English-speaking countries. On Wednesday night, the last of the season, the latest London success “ Naughty Nancy” will conclude the season. All scenery, stage furniture, and other accessories are carried, so that patrons can rely upon the productions being staged in tbe same complete manner which has alwayß characterised Mr Sheridan’s season.
