Fifty thousand have applied for tickets of admission to a meeting to be addressed by Mr Chamberlain at St. Andrew's Hall, Glasgow. The hall will accommodate only 5000, Mr Chamberlain, writing to a correspondent, 6aid he expects before long his proposals will bo supported by many labor leaders, who, under the influence of political prejudice, condemned them before they had been fully explained. Received 12.56 a.m., Oct. 1. Mr Chamberlain, in a lotter to the Cheshire Conservative Workers Federation, said : The Cobden Club has no authority to represent workers on the fiscal question.
