Wellington, last night. A Canterbury deputation from the Education Board waited on tho Premier to-day and asked the intention of the Government regarding tho franking of letters. Tho Premior said the present concession would be extended to the end of October, and in the meantime information would bo obtained to decide whether to inaugurate a system of furnishing departmental stamps or to make an allowance to tho Boards.
