BIG FIRE AT WANGANUI.

SASH AND DOOR COMPANY’S BUILDING DESTROYED.

Per Press Association. Wanganui, last night. Tho biggest fi.ro in Wanganui occurred to-night, when the extensivo buildings of the Sash and Door Company were totally destroyed. A largo quantity of stacked timber was also burnt. The plant, which was the most up-to-dato in the colony, is completely destroyed. Some one hundred men and boys will bo temporarily thrown out of work, while the local building trade will also be temporarily dislocated. The amount of damago, insurances, etc., cannot be ascertained to-night.
