Soaking rain, excepting in the far west whero it was light, fell over the whole State. For the forty hours ended this morning lOin of rain were registered at Baymond Terrace, 7A-in at Newcastle, and 6}in at Maitland. The records in all the northern districts are very heavy. The low-lying lands along the Hunter and other rivers are under water, and a number of residents have been compelled to leave their houses. FLOOD SUBSIDING. By Telegraph—Press AssociationCopyright.
