GISBORNE RACING APPEAL.

Per Press Association. Christchurch, Saturday.

At the Racing .Conference tho judges Messrs George Clifford, Oliver Samuol, and W. H. Herries, delivered tho following judgment in tho appeals of Messrs Malone and Hepburn, against tho decision of tho Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club, affirming tho decision of tho Gisborne Racing Club that F. Rhodes and Mrs M. C. Rhodes failed to show any primary or othor valid consideration passed on an alleged transfer of tho horses Roseplot and A.8.N., from Rhodes to his wife. The judges consider tho circumstances point to a fictitious sale for the purpose of evading tho Rules of Racing, and decide that tho appeal bo upheld. They direct that the stakes of the Summer Handicap be paid to Malone and Hepburn, and in the Grandstand Handicap to Hepburn and Brightwell.
