A GREAT SUCCESS. The Ormond Hall was filled to overflowing last evening, when a most successful concert was given by the pupils of the Ormond Convent school. The hall was beautifully decorated with evergreens, etc., the decorations reflecting great credit on the pupils. The programme opened with a pianoforte duet, “ Fairy Barque,” by Misses Herd and Hodge. The violin seleetion “ Killarney,” by Masters W. Harper and Morris, was a most successful one. An excellent item was a “ scarf dance,” given by the pupils. “II Bacio,” a pianoforte duet by Misses Neenan and Hamon, was much appreciated, whilst the violin solo by Master W. Harper, entitled “ The Last Rose of Summer,” earned much applause. Other excellent items were a pianoforte duet, “ Fairy Whispers,” by Misses Law and Harper, and a pianoforte solo by Miss Lizzie Law, entitled “ Echoes from the Green Isle,” while Miss Linda Law gave a good rendering of “ Please Miss Give Me Heaven.” A cantata of three acts, “ The Children’s Queen,” was successfully given by the pupils, Misses N. Law and L. Harper being the principals. A drama, “ The Thief of Time,” scored a great success, the dramatis persona; being Masters A. Farmer, J. Proudfoot, W. Harper, E. Cassidy, D. Neenan, W. Neenan, and E. Sullivan. The programme was concluded with a skirt dance by Misses N. Harper and L. Law, which attracted much attention.
