Mr Justin McSwoeney, railway contractor and racehorse owner, giving evidence in the Parliamentary Committee on gambling, admitted that his turf experiences cost him £30,000 in four yoars. He gave a lengthy recital of corrupt practices sometimes pursued by bookmakers over heavily-backed horses.
