EGG-LAYING COMPETITION

The Marlborough Poultry Association decided to night to hold an egg-laying competition- on tho lines of the recent Hawkesbury competition in New South Wales, to be open to New Zealand, Australia, England, and America. The oompetition is confined to pens of six fowls each, and is to extend over one year. It was decided to expend .£IOOO in carrying out the scheme. This is tho first project of the kind in the colony, and a subsidy is to be asked for from the Government.
