MR STEAD’S OPINION OF THE RANDWICK COURSE.

Mr Stead paid £3OO for Barley Bree. Mr Stead is so pleased with the Raudwick course that bo has had a plan of it prepared. He considers it the most complete and convenient ho has seen.
Tho presence of a large number of in-ter-State ringmen in Sydney has been responsible for extensive wagering over the Melbourne and Caulfield Cup doubles. Mac Donovan and Mac Donovan booked at 1000 to 5,6, and 7, supported to the extent of £15,000. For T.M.S. and T.M.S. an even stronger order was givoD, ono patron of Fielder’s stable closing for £25,000 at 1000 to 7 aud 8. Ibex, Postillion aud Billali wore most favored for the mixed doubles, and at least £12,000 was booked each way at 1000 to 8. Several other combinations were heavily backed. Per Press Association.
