NELSON DRAINAGE SCHEME.

In view of the rejection of Mr Mestayer’s drainage scheme by the ratepayers on the ground that it needed extension for the septic effluent to deep w:.. -r, and the cost of connections, the Citizens’ Drainage Committeo, formed to conduct the recent poll, met last night. It was a representative gathering, and resolved unanimously to recommend the City Council to amend the schomo in the direction oE a deep water effluent, and equitable method of cost of connections. Tbo objectors to the original scheme guaranteed to support the reformed project. It is probable an amended scheme will be submitted to the ratepayers at an early date, after consultation with Mr Mestayer as to extending his septic tank proposals in tho direction indicated.
