AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL.
Per Press Association. Auckland, last night,
The election of the new City Council of twelve, consequent upon the abolition of city wards, was held to-day. There was considerable interest in the election, twenty candidates having offered thornselves. The poll closed at 7 p.m., but in view of the heavy counting, which will have to be done, the result is not likely to be known to-night,
