EAREE DIVORCE CASE.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, last night. The Eareo divorce case was again before the Court to-day. Further evidence was called to prove that the relations of Mr and Mi s Faroe prior to the latter leaving for England were of an ordinary nature, aud not as alleged by respondent in the defence filed. The evidence of a ladyhelp went to show also that respondent frequently admitted her misconduct. STATEMENT BY RESPONDENT.
Per Press Association. Wellington, last night, In the Efiree divorce ease, on the court resuming after lunch, the respondent, who is about thirty years of age, went into the witness bos. Sire said that when her first child wa3 born her husband said their marriage had been a mistake. After tho second child was born, in 1897, the hus-
band made the same remark, and from that date withdrew from cohabitation. She had tried to regain his affections, but ho had repelled her. She was unhappy on account of this treatment. She did not particularly desire to go to England, and during her stay there the letters she received from her husband disappointed her, thoy were so cold. There was no phase of her life in England of which she had reason to be ashamed. She admitted going to Noble’s cabin on the Athenic, and occupying the same room as he for two rights at the City Hotel. Noble had promised to marry her. Respondent’s cross - examination had 1 not concluded when the Court adjourned.
