Last week’s Bradford report was Tops: 40’s are now quoted at 11-$d per lb, 46’s at 14d, common 60’s at 24d, and super 60’s at 25d. These quotations show a drop on the week of in super 60’s.

The Department of Industries and Commerce have received the following cablegram from the Agent-General, dated London 12:— 11 There is a better demand for mutton, and the market is firm at the prices cabled last week. The lamb market has been unfavorable, being affected by damaged carcases, but the downward movement is not likely to last. The average price to day of Canterbury brand is 4 7 8d per lb, brands other than Canterbury 4fd. The beef market continues dull. The average price to-day of hindquarters of New Zealand beef is 4d, fores 24d. There has been no alteration in the butter market since last week. The cheese market is firm. The spot demand is good. The average price to-day of finest Canadian is 53s per cwt. The hemp market has advanced, and is particula.ly active for future delivery. The price of New Zealand hemp, good, fair, Wellington grade, on spot, to-day is 1132 to £‘32 10s per ton. September to December shipments £32, January to March shipments £3l 19s. The price of Manila hemp, fair current grade, on spot to-day fs £35 per ton. The cocksfoot market is firm at prices cabled last week.”
