HAWTREY COMEDY COMPANY.
TJU! box plan ol thp above Company’s three nights’ season at the Theatre Royal opens at 1U o’clocx this morning. This favorite company is now .well into its third year of existence. During the first year it was only found necessary to produce two plays. One of them, “A Message from Mars,” has obtained, and undoubtedly has deserved, immense popularity, and will be staged lor the first time in Gisborne on Monday next. The opening production, on Saturday night, will be “ The Lady of Ostend.” Of this play the Otago Daily Times says : “ A clean and clever play, which admirably fulfils the true purpose of comedy by supplying those who witness it with genuine, downright hearty amusement that knows no abatement from the moment the curtain is raised upon the first act until the moment it is lowered upon the last.” The season will conclude with the three-act farcical comedy “ Tom, Dick, and Harry,” which is spoken of as the funniest of all farcical comedies. Mr I-lawtrey is supported by' a very capable company, and their performances should constitutj a rare treat.
