Tbe ground was sodden. The local team was not so strong as when playing against Auckland. Tho visiting forwards wore a heavy fast lot with plenty of pace and go. Taranaki kicked off. The visitors playing very fast, froe kicks and scrums were frequent. Play was chiefly in tho Thames quarters, occasionally the visitors pressing the local team. Mynott, for Taianaki, scored tho first try, Glasgow failing to improve. Fust play followed up and down tho field, Taranaki pressing their opponents, and Guy eventually scored another try for Taranaki. Tho score at half-time was Taranaki 6. Tharnos nil. In the second spell play was fairly even, the ■visitors having hard luck onco or twice in not scoring, Newland, on oqia occasion, kicking tho ball against tho bar. Towards tho end of the game Thames proved in hotter condition than the local men, but could not score, though they strained every norvo to do so. At call of time no addition to tho score had been made, Taranaki winning by 6 to nil, and being thus victorious in all matches this season. The game was by no moans a scientific display, though relievod by occasional excellent play on both sides.
