FRISCO MAIL

ARRIVAL OF VENTURA.

Per Press Association. Auckland, last night. The mail steamer Ventura arrived from ’Frisco at 5.40 p.m., but is detained in the stream for fumigation owing to smallpox at San Francisco and plague at Honolulu being reported. The steamer will not berth until about 1 a.m. The Southern mails were landed, and after fumigation were sent to Onehunga at 9.30 p.m., but the Takapuna will probably not get away until daylight.
