THEFT AND SLY-GROG CASES,
per Press Association. | Auckland, last nig.ht At;, the Supreme Court to-day charges of the£t,from the warehouse of John Burns and Co. were dealt with. Harold Skinner, who pleaded guilty to receiving, was » admitted' to probation for twelve months. Edwin Nelson Farrow and William Thos, Worms, *for thefts, were sentenced, the former to three years and the latter to two years. Thomas Edward Wheeler, for j receiving, was sentenced to tweive months*;; imprisonment. In connection with a charge of sly-grog selling in the King Country, Judge Conolly said that people who sent liquor into the Ring ’Country deserved to be punished equally with thoso who sold it. Crates filled with bottles of spirits and beer were sent into the district.
