The Department of Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram from the Agent-Goneral, datod London. 15th :—Mutton market firm at prices cabled last week. Lamb market weaker, though prices cannot bo said to be lower. Beef market dull, with a downward tendency. Supplies of American chilled beef are large, and are selling at low prices. The average price to-day of choicest New Zealand cheese being 525. The hemp market is steady. The price of New Zealand hemp, good, fair Wellington grade, on spot, is £3l 10s ; August to September shipments £3l, Cocksfoot grass seed is in better demand at 47s per cwt, c.i.f., London, for bright, cloan New Zealand cocksfoot seed, weighing 17lb per bushel.
