OTAGO DEFEATS WAIRARAPA,

(Per Press 'Association.) Dunedin, last nigh

The football match Wairarapa v. Otago, played yosterday, resulted in a win for Otago by 15 points to 3. Otago scored three tries, ono of which was converted, and a goal from a mark, and Wairarapa scored a try. The visiting forwards played a good game, and were superior to the looal ones, having hard luck in not sooring in the second spell. The local backs were superior.

The ground was in a very sloppy state, which rendered fast play impossible, though both sides essayed passing rushes from time to time. The visiting forwards were a much heavier pack than the local men, and carried the scrums. Tho game ended in a victory for Taranaki by 11 points to 3. AUOKLAND^DEFEATS^THAMES.

Tho match was played in pouring rain.
