By Telegraph— PreßS Association—Copyright Received 10.47 p.m., Aug. 10. Paris, Aug. 10. M. Combes, Premier, addressing 3500 school teachers at Marseilles declared-that congregations, supported by the higher ranks of the clergy, had been trying for 14 months to provoke a religious and civil war, but had signally failed, as the whole of France supported the Government’s policy! If opposition continued the Government would consider the advisability of modifying the relations of the State. While proceeding to a banquet a man threw a tomato at M. Combeß. Whefj pursued his companion fired two revolver shots at the police, who arrested both.
