SHOW AT PALMERSTON
(Per Press Association.) J Palmerston North, last night. The rough weather cleared up somewhat la3t night. This morniDg was clear, but exceptionally cold. Still the attendance at the Show, according to the stock sales takings, already exceeds the mates, and there will not be a deficit. It is anticipated that the winter show is assured as a future annual fixture. The Minister of Lands arrived this morning to take part in to night’s dinner, which will have a large and representative attendance. ■ The Show closes to-morrow night. The Dairy Conference resumed this morning. Mr Gilruth read a valuable treatise on the value of scientific research for farmers, giving a review of his ten years as Government bacteriologist. Many questions were afterwards asked and answered. A hearty vote of thanks was passed. Other papers of a technical nature were read. The Conference closes this afternoon, Mr J. W. Foreman, .of Taranaki, was (I Vted Chairman of Directors of the Nation*.' Daity Association in succession to Mr J. G. Harkness, who goes to Wellington next week to take up his new duties as general feoretary to the Association.
