The German, Austrian, Hungarian, and Polish cardinals are actively supporting the Kaiser’s candidate. The Italian Liberal press support Cardinal Vannutelli, and bitterly oppose Cardinal Rampolla. Many suppose that Cardinal Depietro has the best chance.
