A startling assertion Uas been made in a pampulet issued by attendauts and nurses at Victorian asylums, that at two of the big institutions near Melbourne certain patients are being drugged, instead oi being placed under pnysiual restraint. The drugs alleged to be used are chloral bromide and suiphonal. The press has been lully supplied with statements by medical men and discharged patients to the effect that tdese inmates are treated in a manner which amounts to a frightful' travesty of meroy.
